Histoire<\/h1>\n

En 1952, le Community Information Centre of Metropolitan Toronto (CICMT) \u2014 qui deviendra plus tard Community Information Toronto, puis Services d\u2019information Findhelp \u2014 fut \u00e9tabli en r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 une demande croissante de renseignements fiables sur les programmes communautaires disponibles dans la ville. En tant que programme du conseil de planification sociale de Toronto, le CICMT offrait un service t\u00e9l\u00e9phonique et un annuaire des services communautaires, connu sous le nom de Blue Book, si bien que nous \u00e9tions appel\u00e9 les \u00ab Blue Book People \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n

En 1970, le CICMT s\u2019\u00e9tait \u00e9largi et la demande ne cessait d\u2019augmenter. Le CICMT \u00e9tait constitu\u00e9 en organisation sans but lucratif et ind\u00e9pendante. Au fil des ans, l\u2019organisme s\u2019est adapt\u00e9 \u00e0 la d\u00e9mographie changeante de la ville de Toronto, y compris la fusion municipale, et s\u2019est d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 pour r\u00e9pondre aux probl\u00e8mes sociaux divers touchant la vie de notre ville. Des lignes d\u2019aide sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e se sont succ\u00e9d\u00e9es pour r\u00e9pondre aux besoins changeants de Toronto, comme Information for Victims of Violence (1984), Street Helpline (1993), la Ligne d\u2019aide aux victimes (1996), l\u2019acc\u00e8s central au syst\u00e8me de gestion du sevrage (2006), la ligne d\u2019information d\u2019\u00c9ducation juridique communautaire Ontario (CLEO) (2007) et la ligne de soutien pour survivants masculins (2011).<\/p>\n\n

Nous avons \u00e9galement d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 de nouvelles publications et d\u2019autres mani\u00e8res de mettre les communaut\u00e9s en relation avec les services et soutiens tant n\u00e9cessaires. En 2002, nous avons lanc\u00e9 211 Toronto et sommes devenus le premier organisme au Canada \u00e0 recevoir l\u2019agr\u00e9ment AIRS (Alliance of Information and Referral Systems), la \u00ab voix internationale en mati\u00e8re d\u2019information et r\u00e9f\u00e9rence (I&R) \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n

En 2004, nous sommes devenus Services d\u2019information Findhelp. Ce nouveau nom refl\u00e8te l'\u00e9volution d'une agence locale qui s'est adapt\u00e9e aux priorit\u00e9s locatles et aux contextes plus larges qui influencent ces priorit\u00e9s. Findhelp a continu\u00e9 de se manifester comme chef de file de l'information et r\u00e9f\u00e9rence en Ontario. En 2011, Findhelp a \u00e9tendu ses services aux r\u00e9gions de Durham et de York, pour former le 211 R\u00e9gion Centre. En 2020, nous avons contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la croissance du r\u00e9seau 211 au Nouveau-Brunswick, au Manitoba et \u00e0 Terre-Neuve.<\/p>\n\n

Aujourd'hui, nous travaillons avec des partenaires partout au Canada ; nous travaillons en collaboration avec les trois niveaux de gouvernement et le secteur sans but lucratif pour d\u00e9velopper des relations et cr\u00e9er des moyens permettant aux personnes et aux organismes de se connecter aux services et \u00e0 leurs communaut\u00e9s.
